Today in the GEARSECTOR we are taking an in-depth look at the beastly A3 Delta from our friends at Tekto Knives.
It’s a tactical auto folder built like a tank that now has an official spot in my EDC rotation. I opted for the serrated edge but it does come in a straight edge as well. I also went for the kick-ass forged carbon scales and I think they look absolutely sick when the light hits them just right. However, if forged carbon isn’t your style they also offer Desert, Black, and OD Green handle options.
Technical Specifications
Many auto folders have small mechanisms that make it challenging to deploy when wearing gloves. You won’t have that problem with the A3 Delta. It’s an oversized textured button that makes deploying the blade with gloves on a non-issue. Like most blades these days, it’s also got a glass breaker, lanyard hole, and thumb jimping on the back of the blade. You also get a Tekto pouch, sticker, and info card in the box when you buy it new.
The blade is made of Titanium Coated D2 tool steel which is great for corrosion resistance and it should hold a pretty solid edge if you get it sharpened right. Out of the box, it’s certainly sharp, but with the right touch, you can put a razor-sharp edge on it. Beyond that, it feels heavy in the hand, well-balanced, and it’s a very ergonomic design.
